I open a new topic specially for text of campaign.

Part 1 : Under the sand

- Where would I go this time?
- Dont be so embittered, my daughter. You know how essential is your role to the smooth running of the sheikhs.
- My role, like all other spies, informants or mercenaries that you, Ambassadors, send to prepare your beautiful interventions.
- Emissary, that's what you are. The one that arranges things so that they can be arranged.
- And where will your arrangements arranger goes ?
- If you don't mind, in Avalon. The rumors about the young prince Khelan's imprisonment by his mother worried me to no end. It evokes a church conspiracy, assisted by the Queen herself. She could be involved in the disappearance of the King 3 cycles ago. Disappearance which in fact could be an escape of the King Sander, who might have seen at Complies.
- What knot bag! And you give ear to this nonsense?
- Nonsense which now shaking the foundations of the Avalon Kingdom and could well trigger a civil war. It seems that all the peoples of Mornea are on the verge of tearing ... node bag, yes, you're right, admitted the Sheikh, who else but you could untie it? he added with playful eyes

“Here, even a lost game", she said, looking at the sea.
Despite his temerity, Assia did not want to risk to cross alone the Avalon borders. She had left too many traces in Brall and some were still there to remember her. The Arzhel's jails do definitely not tempt her.
She had to integrate a group of travelers, merchants or even mercenaries. It would be more discreet to go in a group and with little luck, they would go up to KerKastel. She was there in her thoughts when her eyes were caught by a small man who frantically dug the sand.
- Can I help you ? She asked, searching the sand beside her.
The man stared at her, then waved her away.
At a bow range, another did the same while their visibly armed companions watched the surroundings.
- You should look under this little mound there, she said, approaching. Those also interested, I think, said she, pointing to a half dozen Khalimans sailors approaching.

A few whacks and minutes later, Assia had found his traveling companions

Part 2 : Under the mountain

Szilard's company was not unpleasant if Assia excepted its falsifier ways and the look he threw at Orph his flying squirrel.

As soon as he recovered emeralds that his fence had hidden on the beach, the smuggler immediately embarked towards the Aurlok territory. Assia and it had reached an agreement to enter as quietly as possible in the kingdom.
He knew a pass through the Morning mountains, a kind of old tunnel that opened in a deep valley south of Matgen. Assia assured him a discreet and safe journey through Copawige. So they would travel together to the outskirts of Kerkastel.

A few days later, after crossing the Wapka Sayela, hunters of the tribe Leaves-that-Smoke slowly left their friend Assia and the men who accompanied her. From this side, no trail was leaving to the heights of Atalvi Hinhani. They had to rely on the local knowledge of the mountain of the band and the meager indications that Szilard had

Thebus disappeared for the second time behind the ridge without having found the tunnel they sought. The few galleries that they had explored had proven to be dead-end, Assia was losing patience and the men lost confidence in their leader. From daybreak, they will turn back with their share and work alone to sell it at best.
- Wake up, a voice whispered.
Assia opened her eyes, the watchman shook the arm of his leader. He showed him a glow behind a rock overhang. That of a fire.
- I think we found our tunnel, finally

In the morning, they reached the entrance. The fire was one of a small group, less than ten, who used this passage. Their tracks were fresh, they would guide them in the galleries.
Assia seemed to sink under the mountain instead of the cross. Tracks of the other group still down below, leaving out the galleries at the same level.
The noise and bustle of Orph warned them before the light. The other group was in an adjoining room. As the tracks had told them, they were Aurloks. They ransacked strange metal barrels.
- Looters, decreed Szilárd disappointed. Let's see what they recover so interesting.

Part 3 : Under the ferns

Crossing the old naashties galleries was far from being as planned.
They had succeeded in fleeing looters Aurloks, but taken serious injury. Assia was left to cure the scout and Szilard had gone ahead with the three men who remained to him.
After five hours of walking to support the scout, Assia and his flying squirrel were no longer able to find the brands that the smuggler had left. Whether on the floor or on the walls, there was no indication of direction. She let the man to a cross and remade several times the way backwards. She missed no bifurcation, neither trace. There were simply no more

When she returned to him, the scout took advantage of the light to search him too. The efforts he made reopened the deep gash that the weapon of a Waga had made in his thigh and he collapsed in a pool of blood which widened rapidly.
- You did what you could. Bring those documents to Szilárd please, he whispered, handing him his bag. He will need in Kernan.
Despite its injunctions, Assia tried to close the wound. She met his gaze and sat beside him. She stayed until he expires, long after his last torch was extinguished. Then, groping, she walked to a small alcove she had noticed during his research and carried there the body of the scout.
- I'll give him your purse, she whispered, although Kernan is not my way

It is a tiny source of water that saved her life. Awakened by the squeals of the flying squirrel, the Khaliman dragged her on to distinguish a low flow. The water gave her some strength and led them to an exit.
How long remained she under the mountain? How long had she slept in the ferns in front of this source?
Assia was alive.
The traces of struggle she found around her explain the disappearance of Szilard, although some things remained obscure. She picked up a silk piece.
"Amazing," she said, looking Orph.
A noise made her turn, the crack of a branch.
- She is there, cried a voice in Oriental.
Could it be that so little time has passed? wondered Assia.
- Ná bag, said the same voice, mixing Oriental and Sabek

A hundred yards ahead, she saw the smuggler and ran to him. During the agony of the scout, she had read the scrolls that contained the bag and knew what to do.

Part 4 : Under silence

The emissary was happy to have left the smuggler. The documents she had read and the presence of explorers of the Dao Breath changed entirely her objectives. There was no question to go spy on the court of Eleanor while the Wanli prospected tunnels of Naashtis and went to a mysterious rendezvous on the coast of Coelon.
Hakim would not blame her. If he had appealed to her, it's because he knew she would do this, she was trying to persuade herself.
Assia stepped aside to let the road to the cart she heard coming behind her.
- Whot's thot beast on yer shoulder? It's been foor cycles I trovel b'tween Kumaraid n' Kerkastel n' I meet Kh'limon, but I still hod never seen a creatur' of the sort

The curiosity of the hawker allowed Assia to avoid the long walk to the south, its incessant chatter confirmed the rumors Hakim repeated to her. Something went wrong in the kingdom, we began to see the edges of the fracture ... as in the Republic, she had to admit.
She left the merchant at the entrance of Kastel Kumaraid, leaving him to his dreams of farms and fur flying squirrels. Outside the city extended the enclosure of a monastery, only lodging place for travelers. Assia had planned to leave it lying around her ears. "No city peddles as many secrets as this one," she whispered

Through a substantial gift to the divine tree, and an interview with a branch brother, the emissary was accepted for one night. Her status of embassy assistant allowed her access to the library of the chapel.
Library was a well inaccurate word, however, to refer to the cabinet where several dozen manuscripts is lined, mainly chronic days of the brothers.
The Khaliman was surprised to find a man studiously poring one of these books. A triadic emissary, whether to judge by his appearance. He courteously bowed, a slight question in his eyes.
Assia answered him a quick smile and browsed the shelves. She looked for the volumes of the cycle 1369. There were many, which reassured her, this cycle had experienced many events to relate. She noted that it lacked any volume. What book could well see the triadic emissary?
She took the volume dating from summer 1369 and began to read. The beginning of the regency had to have left some traces

An hour could elapse when two young triadic entered the chapel, she recognized them immediately. The memory of their beardless face was still fresh in her mind. They beckoned to their compatriot who joined them quickly. Assia watched him go, then became interested in the book he had left open, the journey of a group of monks beyond Complies in the southern haze. Absorbed through reading, she did not hear the footsteps approaching:
- Madam, we fortuitously learned your presence and would like your support, said a ghulam deferentially.

Part 5 : Under surveillance

A Summoner ! Here in the heart of the Kingdom of Avalon?
They were five to accompany, Ermadhi for most. Was she one of these runaway sisters who had taken refuge in the White caliphate? And in this case what was she doing here?
- A renegade in Avalon, what a surprise! Assia threw his natural boldness.
- Who authorize you? revolted the Suleman seemed to be the leader of this group.
- Leave her, interrupted the Sorhna. We hoped her wisdom ... not such frankness, however, she added, turning her dead eyes to Assia.
- Is it reasonable missing franchise to a summoner ?
- Not a summoner, I'm a soothsayer. But you are right, franchise is required. I go to the south arm of Ciar in search of a vision.
- You too ? could not help saying the emissary.
The Sorhna played well. Anyway the situation in Avalon or half truths of the renegade, Assia had to accompany her to learn more. Too many people had an appointment in the mists of Coelon.

Despite his camouflage and prudence, the Sorhna was spotted by Triadic. She needed a little ahead of them and counted on the emissary to delay them.
While the Ermadhi would undertake to stop the other ambassador, Assia was able to convince the faith guards to question Orientals. Given their natural distrust, this would not pose any difficulty to the tricky Khaliman

The place was quite deserted. The evening was the best time to hold the Triadic, but it was not one that was appropriate to go unnoticed. Especially as they stood at the opposite of the place where had to go Assia.
She disguises herself roughly to resemble some monks who were passing slowly then stepped forward, head down

Part 6 : Under control

Assia's bluff had totally failed. Her flying squirrel had popped of her hood when she met a hilarious contortionist. "The Mist Monkey Hail! "Had said it before disappearing into a pirouette.
She was forced to use all his oratorical skills to protect the anonymity of the Sorhna and get rid of a custody sergeant. His taste for secrets, like other residents of Kumaraid, was the key that freed them. The lanky sergeant was particularly very interested in the school of the Monkey of the Mists and regretted the departure of the Triadic. Assia gave him to understand that they were perhaps going to Complies instead Kastel Kernan.

They needed now to sail quickly to catch up and, if possible, ahead of their opponents. For the Sorhna, the easiest would be to embark on a barge at Vêpres. Assia fully agreed.
She was astonished at her knowledge of the country. It was clear that she had never occurred in Avalon, but she ran with an ease that exceeded theoretical studies. The Renegades possessed really strange gifts, but it was not the time to dwell on it

Assia shrugged, she still had to walk. Fortunately, there was no meharist among her companions.
It took less than a day to reach the arm of Ciar which adjoined the Templar city.
- Although I do not see any representatives of the Empire near the docks, it seems unnecessary that you expose yourself, said the emissary. One of your companions will join me to negotiate a downhill with the boatmen.
- Take care. This day we will be conducive, but may be for others also.
- We shall meet on that little pier, said Assia causing an Ermadhi behind her.

Part 7 : Under the mist

Only a large amount of money convinced the boatman to continue to drive the downstream of Complies. And she must promise more to each of the three sailors to continue in tow fog which showed ghostly shadows on the banks. Sometimes the mist condensed into thick fog that hid them even the water on which they sailed.
The Sorhna, locked in her blindness, could not understand the emotion of her companions so blinded. They were left to their own imagination and designated all kinds of monsters in the waters they said they had seen or heard.
There was a fearful silence, broken by surges of marine perch or issues of soothsayer.
Assia gently stroking her flying squirrel. If he was not worried, she had no reason to be

On the evening of the second day, they met a barge that went back. A quick confab freed the boatman its commitments and Khalimans changed their craft.
Their new mariners were less silent. Thus they learned that they believed those behind them had landed that morning on an island in the brackish waters of the estuary of that arm of Ciar. Where they lead the next day

When they awoke the night break, the thick fog had turned into damp mist. At least, they could see at a dozen yards.
Within hours, they reached the fishing village where the Triadic had landed. The fog was replaced by a fine, penetrating rain wich was not going to help them find their competitors. But it was the huge ship stranded on the beach which attracted their attention. Carpenters bustled around, oddly clotted

They landed in general indifference.
The Sorhna had reached her destination.
Assia could no longer connect all these yarns who were not connected to anything. Naashties machineries, Avalonian quarrels, mists of Ciar, Assia had dizzy. What was the common thread ? She had to find the Triadic to try to unravel this fathomless skein.
Where were they among those strange fishermen?

Epilogue : On the waters

- Don't worry, Hakim will be warned.
On these words, she left the renegade. The sorhna had finally refused to give her name and had gone back serene to the twin city of Kernan. She held company to the young Triadic survivors till Xi-Yi, then join the Republic by rivers and the Troubled sea.
The echo of his words echoed through the pendant she had put in the ear of Assia. She could still hear them now, while she was sailing to Marteus port, north of the Fallen Barony.

Her travel companions, builders of this great ship, came from a large island in the Ocean of Dreams, at the edges of the Empty, accordind to them. Secretly installed on the coasts of the Kingdom for several cycles, they now agreed to exchange knowledge against those of the peoples of the continent.
It did not take long for Assia to do business with their captain after the defeat of the agents of the Triad. The Utopians, as they called themselves, were very eager to naashtie technology and no matter their negotiations with the Imperials or a Khaliman ambassador.
Their captain was a pragmatist. He exchanged a handshake with Assia and took the documents she held him in exchange for a journey to the west of the continent. She would sail with them and can ask any questions she wanted until they came to Marteus port. Then she should choose between staying or accompany overseas.

Naashtie technology, so that's what motivated the Triad and caused the instability of the border. Smugglers of all kinds seeking to reap the benefits of this traffic and Assia was found in full dive. These men of the ocean, the Utopians were buying information they have already, appeared to see the weapons they were equipped ...
But there was something else. The Utopians, were hiding in the mists of Cælon but freely docked in one of the largest ports in the Fallen Barony. What game was engaging the Dark Baron ? Or who manipulated him ?

Assia sat on the rail. Forces were at work, but she did not know saying what or where. The traffic she discovered was only part of the game, not even a centerpiece.
Stopping watching the distant line of the torn Avalonian coast, she looks away. Maybe she should go to this island at the edge of the Empty ...

One of the things I'm doing is changing things from past to present tense. It makes the story more engaging.

I read it, yes.
In french, a lot of stories (almost all stories) are written in past.

I think there a mistake here :
Part 5 a écrit: - A renegade in Avalon, what a surprise! Assia relied on her natural boldness.
1-> Who do you work for? replies the Suleman who seems to be the leader of this group.
- Leave her, interrupted the Sorhna. We want her wisdom ... 2->not her secrets, she adds, turning her dead eyes to Assia.
3-> Is a renegade summoner reasonable?
- Not a summoner, I'm a soothsayer. But you are right, 4->an explanation is required. I go to the south arm of Ciar in search of a vision.
- You too? the emissary can't help saying.
1-> The Suleman just wants to stop Assia's insolence . Something like "Who allows you to speak ?"
2-> the Sorhna expect Assia's wisdom, but not such a sincerity/frankness

3-> Assia asks if it will be reasonable (a good idea) not to be sincere (in fact, lying) to a summoner
4-> sincerity is required

And perhaps another here :

Part 6 a écrit:Assia's bluff completely fails. Her flying squirrel pops of her hood while she acts like a hilarious contortionist. "Hail the Mist Monkey!" she says before hiding it with a pirouette.
Assia is disguised. She meets a triadic of the school of Mist Monkey (someone like Xian Ling) on the market place. At that moment, her flying squirrel pops.

The triadic, a contortionist laughs and says "Hail of the mist monkey" and disapears with a pirouette.

So can we write ?

Her flying squirrel pops of her hood while she comes across a hilarious contortionist. "Hail of the Mist Monkey!" he says before disappearing/vanishing with a pirouette.

Mehapito a écrit:I read it, yes.

4-> sincerity is required
Now I understand where it's going.
How about this:
- Who said you could speak? replies the Suleman who seems to be the leader of this group.
- Leave her, interrupted the Sorhna. We want her wisdom ... not her honesty, she adds, turning her dead eyes to Assia.
- Is lying to a summoner reasonable?
- Not a summoner, I'm a soothsayer. But you are right, honesty is required. I go to the south arm of Ciar in search of a vision.
- You too? the emissary can't help saying.

Close.

Part 7 : Under the Mist

Only a large amount of money convinced the boatman to continue downstream to Complies. And she promises more to each of the three sailors to continue in the fog which shows ghostly shadows on the banks. Sometimes the mist condenses into thick fog that even hides the water on which they sail.
The Sorhna, locked in her blindness, could not understand the emotions in her blinded companions. They are left to their own imaginations and imagine all kinds of monsters in the waters they think they see or hear.
There is a fearful silence, broken by surges of marine perch or the voice of the soothsayer.
Assia gently strokes her flying squirrel. If he is not worried, she has no reason to be.

On the evening of the second day, they overtake a barge going downstream. A quick conference frees the boatman from his commitments and the Khaliman change craft.
Their new mariners are less silent. Thus they learn that those they follow landed that morning on an island in the brackish waters of the Ciar estuary, where they are headed the next day.

When they wake at dawn, the thick fog has turned into damp mist. At least they can see at a dozen yards.
Within hours, they reach the fishing village where the Triadic landed. The fog is replaced by a fine, penetrating rain which is not going to help them find their competitors. A huge ship stranded on the beach attracts their attention. Carpenters bustle around, oddly bunched.

They land to general indifference.
The Sorhna has reached her destination.
Assia can no longer connect all these threads which are not connected to anything. Naashti machineries, Avalonian quarrels, mists of Ciar, Assia is dizzy. What is the common thread? She had to find the Triadic to unravel this fathomless skein.
Where they among those strange fishermen?

Epilogue : On the Waters

- Don't worry, Hakim will be warned.
With these words, she leaves the renegade. The sorhna still refused to give her name and serenely went back to the twin city of Kernan.

Her travelling companions, builders of this great ship, came from a large island in the Ocean of Dreams, at the edges of the Empty, according to them. Secretly installed on the coasts of the Kingdom for several cycles, they now agreed to exchange knowledge with those of the peoples of the continent.
It did not take long for Assia to do business with their captain after the defeat of the Triad agents. The Utopians, as they called themselves, are very eager to gain Naashti technology regardless of their negotiations with the Imperials or a Khaliman ambassador.
Their captain is a pragmatist. He exchanges a handshake with Assia and takes the documents she gives him in exchange for a journey to the west of the continent. She will sail with them and can ask any questions she wants until they came to the port of Marteus. Then she can choose between staying or accompany them overseas.

Naashti technology, so that's what motivated the Triad and caused the instability of the border. Smugglers of all kinds seeking to reap the benefits of this traffic that Assia stumbled upon. These men of the ocean, the Utopians were sharing information they already have and appear to be well equipped with weapons ...
But there was something else. The Utopians were hiding in the mists of Cælon but freely docked in one of the largest ports in the Fallen Barony. What game was the Dark Baron engaged in? Or who manipulated him?

Assia sat on the rail. Forces were at work, but she did not know who or where. The traffic she discovered was only part of the game, not even a centerpiece.
She looks away from the distant line of the torn Avalonian coast. Maybe she should go to this island at the edge of the Empty ...

You get it !
Just a last thing :
"we want her wisdom... not her honesty"

The Sorhna is surprised by the way Assia talks, by her sincerity. So I wanted the Sorhna to say something like :
we want her wisdom... but not so much sincerity/frankness.

Remember, this ending part is after the last scenario.
Assia and the Sorhna win the game. The Triadic are defaited and under Khaliman's control...

So, now, the Sorhna goes back to the Republic. First, she escorts the "young Triadic survivors" to Xi-Yi. Then, she'll join the Republic.
When Assia and her break up(?), the Sorhna offers an earring (a pendant).
Assia stands alone on the boat, the words of the Sorhna echoes/rings in her ears.

That makes more sense. How about:
